Privacy Policy

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address, an optional first name, and a password (handled securely by our authentication provider — we never store your password in plain text). You can use much of FirstPassRN anonymously, without an account.

Study and usage data. Your practice answers, readiness, streaks, study plan, and progress. Most of this is stored on your own device; if you create an account, it is also saved to our database so it follows you across devices.

AI tutor messages.When you ask our AI tutor (Flo) a question, your message and the relevant question context are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Don't share personal health information or anyone's private data with the tutor — it is a study tool.

Basic analytics.We record first-party, privacy-minded usage events (for example, “started a practice session”) to understand and improve the product. These are our own records and don't involve anyone else.

Measurement and advertising cookies — only if you accept. We use Google Tag Manager to load measurement and advertising tags (such as Google Analytics and Google Ads). These set cookies and receive your device and usage data. They stay switched off unless you accept them: until you choose, and if you decline, we tell Google not to store anything on your device. You can change your answer whenever you like — Cookie choices. We don't sell your data.

FirstPassRN is an exam-preparation tool, not a clinical system. Do not enter real patient information or protected health information (PHI) anywhere in the app. We do not knowingly collect PHI.

To provide the service: run your practice, compute your readiness, sync your progress, and answer your tutor questions. To improve the product and content. To communicate with you about your account or important changes. We do not sell your personal information.

We rely on a small set of providers who process data on our behalf: a database and authentication provider, a hosting provider, an AI provider that powers the tutor, a marketing and messaging platform, and analytics and advertising providers (Google). They may only use your data to provide their services to us. We don't sell your personal information.

We use browser local storage and essential cookies to keep you signed in and to save your progress and preferences. These are needed for the app to work at all, and are not optional.

Analytics and advertising cookies are different: they load only if you accepted them. Decline, or simply never answer, and they are never set. If you change your mind in either direction, use Cookie choices — the same notice you saw on your first visit. Withdrawing also removes the measurement cookies already on this device. You can of course still block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use a tracker-blocking extension, without losing access to the app.

You can browse our public pages without an account. Studying in the app requires one, because your readiness, progress, and study plan are tied to it. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing us, and we'll action it. Deleting your account removes your synced data from our database. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; email us to exercise them.

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure. We keep account data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it on request.

FirstPassRN is intended for nursing students and other adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
